Frisco Wins Three State Park & Recreation Awards

Frisco Parks and Recreation received three awards of excellence at the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) Institute and Expo in Waco on March 1.

The department brought home the Gold Medal for the top department in the state in its population category for excellence in the field of recreation and park management.  Cottonwood Creek Greenbelt, which won a regional TRAPS award earlier this year, also won for best park design in its population category. The Senior Center’s Golden Givers, a group of members and staff who reach out the community and provide goods and services to those in need, won the ‘Cool Idea’ award from the TRAPS Aging and Leisure Services group.
